Tips for Organising a Budget-Friendly Wedding

A wedding is one of the biggest expenses most people will ever have, but it doesn’t need to be so. You can actually cut your budget in half, or even more, and you won’t need to compromise on how beautiful your special day will be.Here are several tips that you can use to cut your costs and still have the perfect wedding.

Have Fewer Guests

Do you really want to share your special day with people that you hardly know? You don’t have to. A large number of guests at weddings tend to be people mum and dad wanted to invite. This is your day and you should have the friends and family members you love. Keeping the guest list small will mean that your wedding can be more intimate.

Get Fake Floral Arrangements

You don’t need to spend a small fortune on real floral arrangements when you can get some of the most realistic artificial flowers online. These cost a lot less than real flowers. The best part of this is that you can preserve your bouquet for the rest of your life. All the other pieces can be used around the home or given to friends and family.

Marry Off-Season

Depending on where you are hoping to get marriedyou might have to shell out a large part of the budget on the venue. If you want to have the wedding at a hotel, for instance, the costs tend to be quite high during the middle of the year. This is the time at which most people choose to get married. If you set a date for the early or late months of the year, you’ll find that the cost will be much lower.

Ask for Help Instead of Gifts

If you’ve already got plenty of appliances and furniture, then why not ask for help instead? Most wedding gifts are something for the home, like appliances, cutlery, and crockery. You can always register for things that you don’t have so that no one buys you duplicate items. For anyone who doesn’t want to make a purchase, ask for wedding help. You can specifically ask some of your friends and family for a service that they might be good at. For instance, if you have a friend who does photography, you can ask them if they would do the photography for the wedding day. Alternatively, you could have a list of tasks or any help you need and allow people to choose from the list.

Skip the Nonessentials

Much like trimming the guest list, you can save a lot of money if you trim everything else you might be spending unnecessarily on. For example, do you need a three tier cake? Do you need big centrepieces? Look for ways to cut all these down if you can. Of course, you don’t need to give up everything that you would like to have. Just see how you can reduce spending. You can still have an elegant and simple wedding with minimal decorations and settings.

Other things you can do is DIY the decorations or prepare the food at home, make your own invitations, and buy used decorations. You can also have the tuxes or suits rented, and you may be able to get a discount as a group. These are just a few ways you can make huge wedding budget cuts. The important thing to remember, is that your special day is for you and your loved ones to enjoy. This is regardless of where you are and how you celebrate.
